postheadericon Official ICP Statement

We've mostly been leaving alone the many news stories and posts because it's redundant, but this is deserving of it's own post. ICP has released their official statement on the Tila Tequila incident as follows:

Although what happened to Tila Tequila at the 11th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos is extremely unfortunate, Juggalo Gathering, LLC and Insane Clown Posse are not responsible. Ms. Tequila was made aware, in advance, of her unpopularity with many Juggalos at the Gathering, but she insisted on performing. She was even paid in full before her performance, and was told that she did not have to perform, but if she did decide to perform, she could leave the stage the minute that she felt uncomfortable. Gathering's head of security told her that it was unsafe to go on stage, and recommended that she leave the Gathering grounds. Despite warnings and already being paid without being required to perform, Ms. Tequila made the decision to go onto the stage and perform. As soon as her show started the crowd began to boo heavily and throw garbage. It was immediately obvious that she was not welcome. Her injuries were only sustained because of her refusal to leave the stage. After several minutes, she even removed her top, exposing herself, which seemed to mock and further antagonize the crowd. Finally, Gathering security pulled her off of the stage. Soon after, she was escorted to her car, and was driven safely off of the Gathering grounds.
Most of this we know, but we have an official statement showing she had to be pulled offstage - not of her own account, she was so terrified she wouldn't leave. We all know she's a dramatic bitch, but to hear specifically that during the time of her "assault" she still did not want to leave just shows to me that she knew the longer she stayed the more drama she'd get and hope E! would make it into a THS.

This, along with some other accounts, coincides with Tila having been paid already. Tila stated (stupidly) that she was told she would be paid but she went on anyways. Ironically, between Method Man and Tila both, the classiest and clearest statement came from 40 year old dudes who wear clown makeup.

I wish they'd put in their statement how she taunted the crowd and boasted that "she's not going anywhere."

But it's good to see that they addressed this. Good. Chew on that, Tila.

you know, I've never been a fan of ICP, frankly I just wasn't into their music and probably won't ever be but I've heard all kinds of horrible things about them both as a group and individuals...this really changed some of those feelings for me. I respect them as a group, as heads of a "family". They did everything they were supposed to do and while I'm still not sure WHY Tila was there to begin with I think the lengths they went to (paying her upfront and telling her she could leave) deserves a lot of respect in that aspect. To come out with a statement very cut and dry, not resorting to taunting her or saying slanderous things to the media shows that they know what they are doing, they know the business and they aren't about to put themselves or their "family" in the line of fire.
Tila could really learn a thing or two from the people she constantly tries to take down.
Look at 80% of the self proclaimed fans of ICP, ICP themselves, Garry Sun, The Game, Sam Ronson, the Kardashians, the jelis haterz...I could go on forever! all of these people have been "attacked", slandered, accused and made to look like monsters by Tila and look at how they handled it.
Seriously Tila, why do you continue to be so predictable, stupid, transparent and well...that list could go on forever too.
Someone just smack the bitch with a frying pan and get it over with, please. Thank you.

I second the newfound respect for ICP. Once, some dipshit fans in clown makeup threw a Big Slam Mountain Dew (not Faygo) at my car while I was driving by. I shook my fist at them and held a grudge ever since. That grudge has now been dropped.

I hope they fight her tooth and nail if she tries to move forward with the LOLsuit.

shes not gonna get a dime cause the statement proves most of what everyone knows and that is that what happened to her was her own fault

Yeah, she won't get anything, and it's not just because she's ruined any chance she had by running her mouth all over the internet, lying when there's proof everywhere to dispute everything she's saying. Like I said in another post...ICP is filthy rich. They might be "underground", but they're marketing genuises and they've got an actual army of fans that are completely devoted. On top of that, this probably isn't the first time they've received a backlash or controversy, much like Manson or other prominent darker acts...and they're prepared. This statement shows that. They have a real team of high powered lawyers, they have their asses covered legally, and every statement they've released, other than that one guy talking about how he'd sling her some dick, has been really professional and shows that they take their business seriously. She's a fool to even play like she can win a fight against them. All it's going to do is make their fans more angry with her, and put herself at more risk...all because she can't pass up an opportunity to get her name in the news. Hope it's worth it.
