At 27 years old, I don't remember a time when I didn't love Michael. He was a huge inspiration on me as a child, and I feel blessed to have been able to visit Neverland last year a few days after we lost him.
I love you Michael, and I still miss you.
If any of you are the praying type, say a prayer for Michael's kids today.
Love him or hate him. The man had a profound affect on many lives whether directly through his music, or through the hundreds of other artists he inspired. Oh to be king, if just for a day.
Today is a sad day.
Uncle Eddie, that's awesome you got to go to Neverland, sad it was after his passing :(
RIP MJ
So true Rotty. There will never be another one like him.
I remember going to my grandmas house to watch a MJ concert on cable. I remember going to Disneyland and watching Captain EO with my family when I was a little girl (about 10 I think).
I sincerely believe that he is a pioneer in the music industry. The music videos we watch are only so spectacular because of Thriller.
RIP MJ I hope where-ever you are you know many people love you.
I was just listening to Thriller in the car. RIP MJ.
Love him or hate him, you cannot deny the fact that he has influenced pop culture in such a profound way. No one can come close to his caliber. RIP MJ
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker video game for Sega Genesis.

Never will there be another genius as Michael. No matter what some say he was the most unbelievably talented man there ever was. Thankfully his music will live on and entertain people way after we are all dead and gone. His talent will never be surpassed.
RIP Michael
I remember back in the day when Thriller came out. The genius of his talent was so encapsulated in the album and the videos. No one could touch him then, and no one, to this day, can touch him now.
He walked a very rocky road to get where he was, and he often did it with a grace that surpassed our expectations. Unfortunately, he was a genius trapped in a very sad and pained man.
I am 29 and MJ was a huge part of my childhood. As I grew up I still loved him. It sucks that so many more embraced him in death than in life. I never doubted his innocence and his music is like the soundtrack of my childhood. My children are now huge fans and I love the fact that my 3 year old can sing any MJ song word for word while moonwalking (her own toddler version of course)
RIP MJ. I hope you have found the peace and love in death that you could not have in life.
Death of an icon.....
I now understand how all of the Elvis fans mourned for so long, as that is how I feel with MJ. Being 30 years old, I can't remember not knowing who Michael Jackson was.
That being said, I wish his talented self was here still, and the grim reaper had come to take a certain rotten little mogul that day instead.
Love you and miss you MJ.
This is a very sad day for fans everywhere, yet we are still able to keep his memory alive.
I am 26 and can remember one of the first albums I have ever had was one of The Jackson 5's. His music has been such a big part of my life as will it always. There never will be another talent such as Michael.
His children are incredible kids and are so strong. I lost my father at 17 and that was hard, so I can only imagine what those poor children had to go through.
God bless you, Michael. Rest in peace.
Mad respect for that, Fatty.
Like most of you, I can mark the years of my life from Michael Jackson songs and The Jackson 5.
Those songs and memories of the fun we had will stay with me always.
He will never fade away.
Thank You for this post and I love the art work.
I have always regretted the fact that I didn't see Captain EO. I got to Disneyland too late, it had finished :(
I thought they are bringing Captain EO back?
I can't believe that it has been already one year. I remember dancing around to blame it on the boogie when I was 7 or 8 years old.
I'm not old enough to remember Thriller when it first came out... but I was a Michael Jackson fan nonetheless. I remember clearly when they told me he died, last year. It felt so surreal. I could not imagine the pop culture world without Jacko... one year later, we're still here, that's a fact, but we're all poorer for it. RIP Michael. May you find after gone the peace you never had in life.
I too can not remember a time in m childhood that he was not present. I saw Captain EO as well and still have my MJ dolls at home! My sister and I got them for lost teeth one year instead of money.
He was a pioneer and an inspiration and his music will continue to touch generations!!
RIP Michael :(
In other news: I don't know about "Hue" Hefner running out of money, but HUGH Hefner sure has a lot of it. And also Tila is allowed to steal whatever she wants and claim it as her own but it's her duty as a serial celebrity gossip blogger to call out everyone else.
It's times like this I wish I were a pothead 0_o
Rest in Peace :(
I remember I was with my (atthetime) boyfriend driving through LA when it happened. We turned on the radio to see why the hell there was so much traffic and we hear "michael jackson died." I was automatically sad and he said "Good."
I am a day late on posting, but I spent the day reflecting on Michael and his family yesterday and what he meant to me....I didn't really want to think about Tila.
Like so many others, I can't remember what my life was like without having Michael's influence in my life. At 35, I can remember so many of my first memories like roller skating at five years old to "Don't stop till you get enough" or playing hide and seek outside with my friends and hearing "Thriller" play in the background after it just came out.(It made it especially scary afterdark!)He has shaped my love of dance, my love of music and I am so grateful for the mark he left on my life in such a seemlingly small way.
I have a 20 month old and a 2 1/2 year old (Both boys). They love music so much, but the one person that they always request is Michael Jackson. They sit in their carseats and bob their heads and say "Uh uh!" and my oldest son Preston will say "Mommy, what's this song again?" and I'll quickly say "Beat it" or "Human Nature" or "Dirty Diana". You'd better believe they'll know every Michael song there is. My youngest Pierce, analyzes his dancing when he sees the "This is it" DVD and spins around and tries to walk backwards....It's amazing. He has this magnetic pull on people that is just undescribeable. How can babies see that?!?!
In closing, my favorite moment yesterday was when we were driving home together and at the end of "Thriller", both boys started laughing that maniacal laugh "Ahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" together in their sweet little voices. My husband and I just looked at each other and started to laugh. They were right on cue and timed it perfectly. It seems they're already on the road to being MJ lovers and they don't need any influence from the two of us. That's just how Michael was.
He gets in your soul.
Tila is SLOWLY preparing to reveal more about the others. She says that only if she reveals it slowly, they wont notice...
You mean drag out your ridiculous BS as long as possible to get more hits to your site, of people WAITING for you to actually say something???
That bitch is trying to say that SHE knew about Michaels death before anyone, AND she was the one who told everyone about it first...seriously Tila? You suck...
ALSO, she finally blamed "the others" for her Facebook demise... ( she posted chapter 3 of her conspiracy theory a few minutes ago)... All it is is a bunch of plagiarized crap from vigilant citizen.com!!
I watched "This Is It" on the anniversary and he it really showed just how much he loved performing and sharing his music with everyone. It's a shame all the other stuff is how some people will remember him.
i dreamt MJ was my uncle last night. strange.
RIP MJ...
im sorry, but i have to post this! THIS IS SO FUNNY! on tila's perplexed post on carrot top, upon reading the comments, THIS was so funny!
here is the link to the carrottop post:
http://misstilaomg.com/2010/06/26/todays-omg-wtf-carrot-top/#more-12628
this is one of the hilarious comments back..
I mean this in the nicest way possible, really, I do. Ummm…what is up with Tila Tequila? I mean, why did she change the way to looks, only to look worse?
I was perusing the internet, and came across a picture of this creepy looking girl with scratches all over her arm. I was like “WTF is that?” My friend said “Duh, it’s that bitch that fakes pregnancies and miscarriages!” I was actually at a loss for words. That rarely ever happens to me.
I didn’t think she was a Goddess before, or anything, but she looked like a regular flat-faced hooker. You know, flat-faced hookers have a certain “different” look to them. Not bad, but just entirely different from others, and it’s cool. That’s just what a flat-faced hooker looks like, right? It’s cute, and makes them totally unique.
I just don’t understand why would someone INTENTIONALLY try to look like this
Why, God, why??? Did she do Ambien and make her face like that? I am blogging about this because I am perplexed. She did something terrible to her look. She looks like she’s on opiates and wears lots of make-up. Not in a pretty, “I’m a bi-woman who wears make-up and I look good even though I make homophobic slurs” kind of way. No, her look is way unfortunate. This goes beyond anything Bradshaw might be able to help with.
WOW!! haha! also i remember hearing the news i was in cvs in hollywood, and yes the streets were backed up. james st james was INTERVIEWING people on the street on what they thought of MJ found dead, it was crazy...
You guys, as much as I love James St. James, don't ever wish him a happy birthday, because I did that once, and he will find the most retina-disintegrating glittery "thank you" pic to post on your Myspace comments. I'm actually using one of those laptops that translates your voice into print right now, that's how completely blinded I was by the last comment he left me.
Wow, I wrote a comment and it never went thru I see! stupid puter of mine, lol!
I stated something like yes RiP Michael your truly missed as well as RiP 2 the beautiful angel Farrah!! <3
